Guest guest
We've all heard of those who feel WLS is the " easy way to wieght loss " . I'm not offended by this (unless, of course, it came from my mother - that's just plain mean). Whether it was the " easy way " or not makes no difference whatsoever. I'm thinner, happy and a full participant in life. Easy or hard, I would have taken any way available to achieve this kind of life. Did I take the easy way? I took the only way that worked for me and if someone considers it easy, then I say, I must be darn smart to have found an easy way to turn my life around. Guest guest
Boy, I never thought about that. There are definately people out there who will never change their minds about WLS being the easy way out. When you get right down to it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing it the easy way. I don't think of WLS as the easy way, but I do think of it as a way to make it possible to lose weight. The difference between dieting and surgery, at least for me, is that before WLS, I would do everything right to lose weight. Sometimes I lost weight, sometimes not. But I could not keep it off. Now, with WLS, if I do everything I am supposed to do, I not only lose weight, but I feel better and I can now keep it off. So really, WLS makes it possible, not easy. But even if it were easy, it would be okay. Easy is not lazy and bad. Barbara Jean The Easy Way? > We've all heard of those who feel WLS is the " easy way > to wieght loss " . Whether it was the " easy way " or not makes no > difference whatsoever. I wonder if the people who say WLS is the " easy way " ever doanything the easy way. Do they have dishwashers? Do they do their laundry on a rock beside the river? Would they rather have a mop or scrub floors on hands and knees? Do they vacuum? LOL! Sometimes the easy way is the better way -- modern technology being our friend, sometimes. I'm in the SCA, where we recreate medieval times -- to a point. We camp in tents, not out in the open, and we use lanterns in lieu of hand-dipped candles, in many of our encampments. We say, in our defense, that if our medieval ancestors COULD have done things easier, they WOULD have! LOL! ~~ Lyn G (feeling whimsical, I suppose)
