home from the hospital

Hi everyoneJust wanted to take a minute to let everyone know I'm back from the hospital and doing great. Also wanted to thank you all for the cute teddy bear..he's just so cute. The surgery on the hip went very well and although it was very painful for the first few days the pain is starting to lessen. This has been the first chance I've been on the computer and most likely I won't be on for a couple of more days. I'm still trying to take it easy and do what the PT and nurse have told me to do. They are all surprise how well I am doing and know that I'm not going to over do it and should be able to go back to work part time in about four weeks. Hope all of you are doing okay and just want you to know that keeping a positive attitude can be the best thing we all can do. I think that is one of the major reasons I am able to do what I can do.I'll be back in a couple of days and let you know how I'm doing.Hugs to all and thanks so much to each and everyone one of you..big hugsSharynDISCLAIMER!!WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, THEREFORE ANY INFORMATION THAT IS RECEIVED HERE IS FROM EXPERIENCE ONLY. Kaye I am so glad that you are home and I hope that you are

recovering well. What happened? Did you say they put in a feeding

tube? Why didn't you come to ton? You must have been very

sick not to. I was thinking about you and had you in my prayers,

still do. Are you going to be seeing Dr. Cotton any time soon? I

hope you feel better soon. I think the weather is going to be nice

this weekend, that always helps.

I am doing well, have had a bit of a bug the last week or so,

something my kids brought home I'm sure. Got a clean bill of health

from Dr. the other day so I am looking forward to going back

to work and trying to get my life back in order. Im still having

some pain but he said that was normal, all things considered and I

should be fine. I was worried about a hernia or something, but I am

so relieved to know that its just a form of growing pains, so to

speak.

Please let me know how things go with you and if you come down maybe

I can run down to meet you. I do hope you feel better soon.

Warmly,

Chrissy

Kaye,

it's so good to see that you are home again. I hope you are able to get

enough rest now that you are home as we all know how hard it is to get

any true rest in the hospital. Hope you are feeling much better.

Hi everyone,

Well, I have not posted to this group before but I had been reading

all the posts the past couple of months getting ready for surgery.

I got back from the hospital. Had upper (expanded 8 CM and

straightened out the jaw slant) and lower (straightened it out a

bit) on Thurs AM. Total surgery time was about 3 hours. Recover

was about 1 hour and then overnight in the hospital. I have minimal

swelling and don't really feel any pain right now.

For those of you with surgery coming up, I would recommend ice! It

totally helps the pain and the swelling. Keep asking for fresh ice

at the hospital and I have a jaw wrap from 'zip and squeeze' which I

really like.

For those of you that have surgery coming up, don't be too nervous.

Just relax. The surgeons know what they are doing.

I have some before and after pics posted under '' in the photos

section.

Talk to you later.

Welcome back home . Glad to hear that all went well for you. It's

always encouraging to read posts like yours that have a positive

ending, gives those of us still waiting for surgery courage to go

through with it. Keep us posted on your recovery process. I like the

blue cap/shower cap look btw:-)
