Only has glucose unlike most of the other energy drinks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. What is called glucose is often a mix of sugars which is not SCD safe. I wouldn't trust it. E-lyte works as an electrolyte drink. And you can do some diluted legal fruit juice for carbs. I've tried a couple of these which looked to be legal and had bad reactions, so I don't trust them. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
I looked up the ingredients in the orange flavor drink: Glucose, Fructose, Citric Acid, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Natural Orange Flavor, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Sodium Bicarbonate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Magnesium Citrate, Calcium Citrate, and Beta Carotene LESS SUGAR • LESS SODIUM • LESS CALORIES NO ARTIFICIAL COLORING • NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVORING • NO PRESERVATIVES The natural orange flavor is questionable, but if it is real orange- who knows? I would love to hear the moderator's take on this. We would probably need a letter from the manufactures before considered legal. The other issue would be the concentration of the sugars. Even if a sugar is legal, too much of it in un-natural proportions would be the problem. PJ > > Wondering if anyone has used Vitalyte on SCD and if it is legal? Guest guest
I would question that " natural orange flavor " , too. I forget what the item was but once I was looking up something, and found the " natural " flavor really meant that they felt the artificial flavor included tasted " just like " the real thing. If nothing else, I would probably pass because of this one. Also as Marilyn says, the glucose can be not what we expect, and I wouldn't be surprised if the " fructose " was high-fructose corn syrup, which certain would not be legal!
