Guest guest
Hi Lesia! I'm from Lineville in east central AL. We're in a rural area of Clay County about 30 minutes from GA. Had my surgery Jan. 19. My little girl was 16 months old that day. I was terrified that something would happen to me (her only parent) or that I wouldn't be able to care for her upon returning home (my doctor had assured me that I would be able to do so within 3 days of surgery). Doc was right. My mom helped for a couple of days but by the end of the first week, I was lifting her by myself and even returned to work on Friday after surgery on Monday. Six months later, I've lost 104 pounds and have thoroughly enjoyed being a more active mama this summer during my break from teaching. I can get in the floor or on the ground outside and play with my baby without fearing that I can't get up by myself. I can run enough to catch her when she decides to be a stinker. I feel so wonderful in so many different ways. It's definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made. Guest guest
Hi Lesia! Not from alabama, but I am also a single mom. My son was 2 1/2 when I had my surgery. He stayed with my brother's family while I was in the hospital, then I stayed there for the first week when I came home (was in the hospital from tuesday to friday). I was back to taking care of him all by myself 10 days after surgery. I probably would have been able to sooner, but it was nice to have the break as I am sure you can imagine!!! How old is your little one? I think it's important to rest after surgery but also, your doc will probably want you to start walking alot and getting in some gentle excersizing. I say what better way than to be chasing around a toddler!!! best of luck to you! You are on your way! in Chicago gbp 5/27/03 315/ 168/
