Did anyone else have this when starting their child on the diet? I am going to make some chicken soup today for him to see if that helps and I'm thinking about trying the epsom salt bath. I read that this is normal when the bad bacteria starts to die off in the intestines, they call it " detoxification " ...... It's not uncommon -- make sure he stays hydrated. The epsom salt baths do help. Don't be surprised if he doesn't care for what you fix him. Most kids don't like a change in their routine, and also, the bad bugs in his gut are yelling for their accustomed carbs. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Have you joined the pecanbread support group as well? You'll find lots of parents with children on SCD for GI issues or for autism. Which means you'll get plenty of suggestions! Or looked over the information on www.pecanbread.com? There is some helpful tips to get picky eaters to make the switch to SCD: http://pecanbread.com/p/how/picky.html And lots of other information. Kim M. Guest guest
If no one else has already suggested it, www.pecanbread.com is an SCD website that was created and maintained by the mother's of autistic children following SCD. I'm sure that group could give you some great guidance. Good luck!!! Misty Kimble CD - no meds SCD - Jan 2008 > > I'm on day 2 of the diet with my 6 year old son.
