Guest guest
My surgeon is Dr. Roger West in Seattle. He is regarded as one of the best in the orthognathic field. Let me know if you'd like more info. I'm having surgery (lower advancement) next Friday. Luna > I am at the beginning of this process. I am looking for a doctor in > the Seattle area. Guest guest
Hi Gail, I have to echo Luna, I have heard excellent things about Dr West, and he is also going to be my surgeon, though I am at the beginning of my process. My OD's also mentioned two other names who work together. I don't have those names right now, but could ask next week if you are wanting more than one OS to consider. I have to say though, that Dr West is extremely nice and easy to work with, and his reputation is spectacular. Welcome to the board Gail! Hugs, Fran > I am at the beginning of this process. Guest guest
Gail, Welcome to the group! I'm just beginning this too. I'm 47 and have an underbite, which will be set back 7 mm. My surgery will be a BSSO (Bilateral Sagittal Split (Ramus) Osteotomy) and will be sometime next summer. My Orthognathic Surgery consult is this Tuesday morning and my OMS is the best I could ever hope to have found. I'm in Boise, Idaho, by the way. My braces go on in two steps do to my jaw joint issues. The spacers and ceramic brackets (top and bottom) will be put in on July 26th and then on August 9th the spacers will be removed, bands put on the back teeth, archwires put on and possibly power chains put on the top. I'm excited to be starting my Orthognathic Journey, but I'm scared of a few things too, like the surgery. I've never had bone surgery before and the thought of someone using a reciprocating saw on my mandible scares me, but I have complete and total trust in my Surgeon so I know everything will be just fine.// Good luck on beginning the process. You are not alone; we on this site will support you every step of the way, so feel free to ask questions. Again, welcome!! ~~~~~~ Diane > I am at the beginning of this process.
