when the splint comes out---teeth don't touch

I don't recall who wrote something similar awhile back, but maybe

someone can advise me....

When my slpint came out two weeks ago I was surprised to find that my

bite did not close at all. None of my teeth touched. I assumed this

was because my muscles were not yet accustomed to the new position of

the jaws. The OS put bands on to help close the gap, and now the OD is

doing the same thing. One side is now touching, but the other side is

not. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Will bands do the trick of

closing these teeth, or did my OS really screw up?

Also, when the splint came out my teeth were very loose. Some,

especially in front, still are. How long do you think it takes to

stabalize these loose teeth?
