Guest guest
You asked who else had a surgery scheduled. Mine is July 12. I am getting my lower jaw moved forward. I'm not too versed in technical terms. Anyway I had my upper pallet widened last October. I've been in braces for 2 1/2 years. I thought my surgery was going to be LAST summer. It sure takes a long time to get scheduled. Patty my surgery is scheduled! I have a surgery date! Whoohoo! July 20th. 15 days away. 2 piece Leforte 1. (I have an open bite and a cross bite). I get all the details on Friday when I go in to visit my OS. I am so excited, I have been in braces since last May (which I know is short compared to some!) and it seemed like this day would never actually come. I feel like I have been fighting my ortho and my OS to get this done, if I hadn't been such a pain in the ass I don't think it would have been scheduled until NEXT July. When I last I went in to the OS he was waiting on my records from my ortho and he said, " It seems like you are chomping at the bit to get this done as soon as possible. " I didn't quite know what to respond, I said something like, HELL YEAH I AM! (of course I didn't for real). I just said, `Yes, I'm ready to go, my teeth are ready, I'd like to do it soon. " He was fine with it and it was scheduled once he got my records but I was kinda annoyed but that. I really like my OS and he has been great to work with. However I think many people, including our orthos and OSs, don't realize that this can be quite a buffer on our lives. My husband and I have been unable to plan any time away over the summer (we usually do some time away with his family and with mine) because we were told in April that my surgery would be `some time this summer'. Now I realize that we could have planned something and dealt with it if it came up, but we just didn't want to deal with getting excited about a vacation and then canceling it due to surgery and disrupting many other's vacation plans as well, and/or delaying surgery for a vacation. Add in the fact that we have been talking about starting a family, yet didn't want to do that before my surgery as it was only months away, has been very draining. I'm so much happier now that it is scheduled! I feel like we can start planning other parts of our lives again! Who else is up for surgery in the coming weeks? I have been reading posts around here forever and keeping up with most but I haven't been paying that close of attention to surgery dates. Do I have any surgery buddies? cori w http://www.corisoralfun.blogspot.com/
