Deciding on type of helmet/band

We will have to decide soon whether or not to get a band or helmet for our 4

month old baby (plagio). From what I have read, I have been the most impressed

with the DOC band. The only problem is we live in Michigan and the closest to us

is in Chicago - a 4.5 hour drive. I don't mind making the drive on occasion but

I wonder how often you need to go to the clinic. If it is pretty frequent then

it will probably be prohibitive to go that route, and I would have to decide to

go with a product that I can find more locally.

Any help would be most appreciated!
