Guest guest
There is a printable annual lab order sheet at www.pacificsurgery.com. Note that this is for DS patients, so it might need to be tweaked a bit for RNY and others. Guest guest
Well Pandy.........Does it comfort you at all to know that you are not in the boat " alone? " I am bewildered and totally disgusted in myself. I too am up (22-24lb) and haven't had but a couple of protein shakes in the last couple of months. Have been living on carbs and just shear crap. What I can't figure out is this......BEFORE surgery I could have cared less for sugary kinda carbs, you know, the candy, doughnuts etc......I had absolutely NO desire for that stuff....I liked the foody kinda carbs like pizza and spaghetti......but now I CRAVE the candy and junk......not sure what's up with that. Not sure what to tell you to do other than I can tell you what I am going to " try " ........I am joining " Curves " in the A.M (a birthday gift from hubby).....even though I have ALL the workout stuff I could possible need at home, I am just not doing it,,,,,I work the 7-9AM shift and plan on going staight from work before I even come home.....if not I will find100 excuses NOT to go. Tonight I am going to work up some " charts " for hubby and I.....the kind that list the things like: water, vitamins, calcium etc., we both seem to do better when we have a " checklist. " Other than that I am going to do a lot of soul searching and praying...I am really upset by my behavoir, and even more upset that I don't know WHY I am being so distructive!! Well, here's to a protein feast for a couple of days.......... P. How Are Your Tootsies? > > I ask because I care, of course, but I also need a serious @$$kicking. Guest guest
Well, P, it seems there are a few of us who are struggling a bit. I'm trying to get a grip. I've been exercising at least 3 times a week (Jazzercise), and I'm trying to make it 4 or 5. I may have to set my treadmill up in my bedroom rather than the garage so that I'll actually USE it! I'm ramping up on my protein again. At least one per day for a few days, then I'll add another, and then I'll add a 3rd. I'm usually pretty good with my vitamins during the week at work, but I'm terrible on weekends, so that's the third thing I'll work on. I've recognized that I'm still trying to use food to self medicate during very stressful times (and I'm having some of those right now). My doc is starting me on Metformin, and I'm hoping that that will help with the sugar/carb cravings. My cravings are pretty bad right now (well, I'm not so sure it's the cravings as much as it is the stress sending me to the fridge/cupboard every 10 minutes looking to fill the void and erase the pain). I've also noticed that I can eat HUGE amounts of food...no, not what I could eat before, but I rather long for the days when 2 teaspoons filled me up. I'm feel as though I'm heading back to that " never satisfied " place that I was in before surgery. I'm hoping that getting back on the protein wagon will help with that. I KNOW my tool still works, because there are certain foods that, if I eat them too fast, they'll plug my stoma up and cause the cookie tossing (so to speak) we all know....the froths prove my tool is still working. I'm just getting to the point (more than two years after my panni) that I'm starting to think about further reconstructive surgery (I just couldn't stomach it before now). My doc doesn't think I'll have any problem getting a breast reduction. I'm hoping that my insurance might even approve my arms at that point (Jazzercise with these flapping wings is NOT fun! ;-) BUT...before I'll consider more reconstructive surgery, I want to get closer to my goal. I have 50 lbs to go to be at goal (I'm three years out). Oh well...hopefully we can all get back on track. The holidays are going to be tough. Sorry for rambling on, but it's helping me sort through things in my head. And thanks to all who responded. There is a lot of compassion and love among the graduates, and I appreciate the thoughtfulness and kindness. P., we can do this. We can. We're tough. Thanks again to all you wonderful grads. Love, pandy Well Pandy.........Does it comfort you at all to know that you are not in the boat " alone? "
