Guest guest
Hi , I hope not. I just had bone filed down on Thursday, and when it was done, I got two of those dissolvable stitches. They haven't begun to dissolve yet, but my OMS said they will within a week, so I'll let you know ~Joanne > Hey Everbody! > I was just thinkin and I had my wisdom teeth out about two months > ago, and when the stitches started to disolve, they tasted HORRIBLE!!! > I was just wondering if anybody who is post-op has had this problem. Guest guest
, I have stitches all across my top and bottom gumline and I can't taste a thing - good or bad. They are however starting to get annoying because I can feel them more and more, especially the ones on the bottom and sometimes I think they are pieces of food stuck down there and try to get them out with my tongue until I realize that they are really stitches. *Sigh* the trials and tribulations of post-op recovery:-) Sara > Hey Everbody! > I was just thinkin and I had my wisdom teeth out about two months > ago, and when the stitches started to disolve, they tasted HORRIBLE!!! > I was just wondering if anybody who is post-op has had this problem. Guest guest
i didn't taste anything weird with my stiches that went all the way across the top and down my palate. they did get a little weird feeling after a while...and then they fell out. in my opinion, it's not much like getting your wisdom teeth out though, because you don't have such a big, empty socket to worry about (you know...which gives you the chance of getting those infected dry sockets). in all actuality - i had all four wisdom teeth removed about 7 years ago - and in many respects it was way worse than this surgery. i remember having pain (this isn't pain...just uncomfortable) for at least a week and half. i also remember my mouth tasting much worse then. this isn't so bad - as long as you keep things clean ) -becky
