Guest guest
I had my surgery two weeks ago. I noticed on my discharge form that I had resorbable screws put in. Does this mean that in about 12 months these screws will have fully degraded/ dissolved and my bones will have healeed in the new postion. I see my surgeon in 1 week but am eager to know the answer! Thanks
Guest guest
Yes, they resorb in about 9 months. I requested the same material from my surgeon but he didnt want to use them. HE mentioend some risks about rejection and stability, which i did not buy, but I had to accept the normal metal material. However, I am now going back to remove those since I do not want to have metal long term in my mouth. Could you please ask your surgeon if there is any issues with resorbable material that would make one avoid them? I still prefer them and it would have savsaved me the second procedure to remove the metal. > I had my surgery two weeks ago. I noticed on my discharge form that I > had resorbable screws put in.
