Hi charlotte. Welcome to the group!

My name is Kat and i am from The UK. Woo wooo. its nice to see more

people from england joining. I have been a member here for nearly 3

years. I had surgery August 1st 2002 to correct a class III UNder

I can tell you my experiences with this surgery if you like? I know

that cammie who can always be contacted on this board (Bless her) she

had lower only. (cammie put me straight if i am wrong but im sure

thats what you had? lol kat x)

Cammie will be able to give you some valuable info she is one of the

fab vets on this board!!!!

Where abouts in england are you from? are you having your surgery one

the NHS?

Kind regards

Hi Kat. Good to hear from another English person. Yes i am having it

done on the NHS...im 17 yrs old and have had braces for a year and 4

months. i cant ait till my op on the 18th of next month, as ive been

waiting to stop growing/for the op, since i was 14.

I live in Kent in London, its really nice here, and the hospital im

at is really friendly.

Thanks for the info about , in fact i have already spoken to

her, and as you predicted she was very helpfull!

Where abouts do you live? Did you also have it done on the NHS, and

if so were they good?

-Hi charlotte glad we are being of help.

I too had to wait to stop growing. i started my ortho work when i

was 12. so i know how it feels like a long trek! And i can say

from my experience that excitement takes over fear when you have

been waiting so long for the op.

I did have my op on the nhs. they were brilliant. nad it was such

a blessing not to have to pay, because i know i wouldnt be able to

afford it without the nhs so im great ful for that. the hospital i

was at was also really nice. it was an hour away from my home tho

which was hard for the family to visit. but the nurses were great

and proved good company. the only thing the hospital where i was at

only had theatre on one day per week - thursday. and i was told if

there was an emergency cancer case that my operation could be

canceled even on the day i was due to have it. i didnt mind tho

cancer paitents are far more important that my surgery was. my

operation to have my wisdom teeth was canceled a few days before and

put back a month. fortunatley my jaw surgery wasnt canceled which i

was quite glad of as i had psyched myself up.

Im currently living in york, i go to university there. I used to

live in bridlington, east yorkshire. and my surgery was in HULL.

and the royal infirmary.

wow kent! i have never been there heard its nice tho!

hope this infor helps.

if you have an questions feel free to email me on

bland_kat@...

its really cool to see more brits joining!!!!!!!

Kind regards
