Liquids wash the food out of your pouch, so you don't get full. Eating while drinking liquids was one of the ways I had a huge regain, so I can tell you, don't do it. If I drink a soda while I eat, I can easily consume several cups of food -- I've eaten an entire foot-long Subway sandwich, over about 45 minutes to an hour, while drinking soda with the meal. I would say wait at least half an hour to an hour after eating before you drink anything. Of course if you are choking or eat something really spicy, SIP a little liquid to help out, but don't make it a regular practice (believe me, it's so much harder to lose later on). ~~ Lyn G
Guest guest
Tara... if I were to say the number one pouch rule that has helped me get back on track it has been observing this! I had actually wondered if I had stretched my pouch when I first came on this list. What I quickly learned was how much I could push into that pouch with the help of liquids. It's been very hard for me because I am drinking liquids all the time. Getting in the water was never a big problem for me. But once I struggled to follow this rule I learned just how little my pouch does hold. One of the most challenging situations for me regarding this is eating out. I find that if I ignore it, I can eat a full dinner because dinner is so slow being served, etc. It's very hard to just sit there playing with your silverware, etc but if that is what I have to do I do it. Now if i happen to have something spicy or the whats nots then i sip, or if im at a some kinda function i will sip a little wine with my meal.Funny when i set the table for dinner i forget to put the kids cups out, half the time they dont drink with thier meals either. > Tara > > --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
