--I do wonder if perhaps I should have been splinted the 1st

time,...If they can get away without using the surgical splint, there

is no question it is an easier go round!.....Without it you do have

that tiny bit of freedom that allows you to talk through your teeth

quite clearly, and suck smash food in, without the splint acting as a

strainer, making it not worth even trying to have anything but clear

liguids.......on the other hand with a splint wired in, my jaw and

teeth, while healing, are in the exact intended position, and tells

your brain that this is now where things are supposed to be!!,...My

1st ,2nd surgery post op is on thurs,..I am no Dr. but I am going to

suggest he keep everything splinted and banded ,for the Maximum Time,

instead of the Minimum Time, just to make sure this time, cause I know

I could not do this again!!!

So far everything has remained in the perfect position, so Im keeping

my fingers crossed...

Have a good day

Bob I wish you well my friend. If i remember

corectly you and i are similar ages . I have read alot

like im sure you have it does seem that the splint is

what your final bite will look like. Can you open up at all?

I went to the os it looks small the splint but i guess

when it goes in your mouth it feels much larger. Good

healing havent decided yet but im leaning towards the

splint dont want to go thry this 2 x do you remove

elastics at all to brush or eat?
