Guest guest
every since my surgerry, my taste buds have changed, but the other thing is that when i try to eat solid foods, it hurts so i stop eating, so therefore i know that i am not eating enough... Does anyone have any ideas of any other different solid to soft foods that would be easy to go down, yet good for me? I really need help because i know im not eating right, but i get so frustrated when i eat and it starts hurting that i just stop eating... amy 6-23-04 lap gbp 312/ now

Guest guest
Did your doctor recommend you eat solid foods this soon? I know everyone's doctor is different, just wanted to be sure. If you are supposed to be taking solids, it's probably still soft foods. I was advised to try yogurt, SF pudding, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, overcooked pasta, even homemade meatballs with sauce. I found for me, that a beaten egg cooked into ramen soup was delicious and didn't upset my stomach (of course, I got several servings out of it). I'm sure there are lots more foods the other members can recommend. And of course, you know you should be having a protein supplement, like a shake every day. > every since my surgerry, my taste buds have changed, but the other > thing is that when i try to eat solid foods, it hurts so i stop > eating, so therefore i know that i am not eating enough... Guest guest
Hi Amy! I would suggest speaking with your doctor about the pain... just to rule out any possible problems. My doc's office eating plan after surgery didn't have me on solids until 7-8 weeks out, so I just recommend taking it really slow. I would actually just have been finishing pureed foods and moving slowing to soft foods at the point you are at now. Maybe just take it more slowly and give your new tummy more time to heal. I lived on yogurt and cottage cheese. Two foods I love and they have lots of protein in them! And I agree with someone else who said to have a protein shake each day too! You definitely need the protein! Good luck! gbp 5/27/03 315/ 170/ 150 > every since my surgerry, my taste buds have changed, but the other > thing is that when i try to eat solid foods, it hurts so i stop > eating, so therefore i know that i am not eating enough... Guest guest
You could also add pureed chicken to the below egg salad , beans, and or cheese to up the protein. You will barely notice it is there, and it should taste better. I may go that myself right now!
