Is that how you can tell you are getting better? I know that everyone is different in this regard but...how frequently should we have stools? My son hates talking about this:) You bet it does! My mentor, when diagnosed, was told, via colonoscopy, that her gut looked like bloody lace. Her doc was all for immediate surgery. 14 months of FANATICAL ADHERENCE to SCD, and her doc said her would not have believed she was the same patient, as all the lesions were healed. I hadn't had normal stools in 25 years when I started SCD. Now they're daily. Frequency can depend on what you eat. FOr instance, if I happen to eat a bunch of low-residue foods, funnily enough, I won't have a movement every day. But if I'm eating lots of salads and nut goodies (like this week!), I'll have a couple a day. Could your son keep a food and movement diary, and just leave it where you can check it, if he doesn't want to talk about it? — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
