I hate to get overly personal

You bet it does!

My mentor, when diagnosed, was told, via colonoscopy, that her gut looked

like bloody lace. Her doc was all for immediate surgery. 14 months of

FANATICAL ADHERENCE to SCD, and her doc said her would not have believed

she was the same patient, as all the lesions were healed.

I hadn't had normal stools in 25 years when I started SCD. Now they're

daily. Frequency can depend on what you eat. FOr instance, if I happen to

eat a bunch of low-residue foods, funnily enough, I won't have a movement

every day. But if I'm eating lots of salads and nut goodies (like this

week!), I'll have a couple a day.

Could your son keep a food and movement diary, and just leave it where

you can check it, if he doesn't want to talk about it?
