Guest guest
OK guys I need your imput. I have been feeling real tired and seem to have lost my zip....at first I thought well you are just 8 weeks out from your plastic surgery and need more time to recover....but I was getting more tired each day....and then I thought well it has been 10 months since your last labs. So I took my new but tired body to the Dr. and had labs done. The nurse called with good news and bad news....my b12 was good but my iron was 35.( I am going in to see the Dr. in person Monday morning and get a copy of the lab report) and for questions. OK.....here is the part where I need your help. The nurse said the Dr. was going to give me iron but I must of gone too far and told her I had to be careful in what form I could take....such as no time released, no gelcaps, someplace along the way I think " we had a failure to communicate " I picked up the iron from the pharmacy and it is not a RX but Walgreens Ferrous Gluconate 240mg..elemental iron 27mg. For almost a year now I have been taking Carbonyl Iron 50 mg...2 a day with 2 Vit C 500 mg...by themselves...also being careful to take them at least 2 hours after taking Calcium and waiting 2 hours before taking any more Calcium. So if I am already taking the right iron in what I think is the right amount why would he prescribe more over the counter iron. The only thing I can think of is that he doesn't know I am taking iron already. I guess reading all the posts about other people having to take iron infusions are in the back of my brain, what were your iron levels? and does this sound right to take more over the counter stuff? I .R .puzzled. If you do take a RX for iron what do you take?
