Guest guest
I'm only a month post-op, but I really wouldn't want any picture taken of me now to be in a yearbook. I don't know what it will be like 3 weeks post-op ... I've heard/read both postive and negative things regarding swelling. One suggestion - is there anyway that you could submit a picture pre-surgery for the yearbook? I'd like to think that your school would make an exception considering the situation. And that way, you can take the picture three months post-op, and if you don't like it, you have one to " fall back on " . Good luck with your surgery ... and the picture! Guest guest
although it was ten years ago - i remember having my braces for the second time and having to take my senior picture. i was devistated because i tried to keep my mouth closed and just do a little smile - but my cleft lip left a little white tooth sticking out so it was actually worse than the braces! fortunately, though, they had an option to call the company taking the potraits and book your own sitting. so four months later, no braces, i took the pictures again and they came out wonderful. hopefully this option will also be available to you...just try to find out who is taking the pictures. additionally, i had more personal attention because i was the only student they took that day. if all else fails - just keep smiling and don't try too hard to hide anything - as my experience shows it doesn't pay off. and no one really looks at the yearbook pictures in a couple years anyway! ) this surgery will be much more important! keep smiling... -becky > Hey everybody i am having my surgery on July 5 and i am taking my > senior pictures like three months later.
