Guest guest
I just had my third Dexa Scan since my surgery in Aug 2000. Although I am still in " normal " range, each scans scores has decreased a little bit. I asked my primary doc about that today and his explanation is that I am 50 yrs old. (Not menopausal yet, but in his opinion close enough.) His point is that being pre-menapausal, my bone density is going to naturally decrease each year. Is this correct? I take plenty of calcium citrate. I exercise consistently. Am I doomed to bone loss simply because of age? Or should I be upping my calcium even more? I currently take a minimum of 1500 mg calcium citrate(plus mag, and vit D) per day, some days more.
