OT - Job interview

I am a little nervous. I have a job interview on Thursday. It

is the first time I've had a job interview in like 5 years and the first

time I have seriously considered working in 2 years since going on SSDI.

I did find out that I techanically have about a year before it would

effect my SSDI benefits. I would have a nine month trial basis and an

additional 3 months after that. It was recommended that not only do I

call, but that I send a certified letter return receipt requested when I

get a job. This would mean that if SSA decided to come back and state

that I had not notified them, I have documentation of the notification as

well as a signed reciept that they received it. I am also going to be

keeping any pay stubs I get and document who I talked to at SSA.

Any way, the interview is with a company called Educare. It

would be working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a

day hab environment. We would probably be doing a variety of training

type things such as money management, pre-vocational training, and some

basic living skills like setting the table, etc.

Oh, Lori, good luck! It sounds like you'd be perfect for it, you're

such a giving person!

Thanks . Actually I have been doing some volunteer work with the

company that holds the contract now so I know I can do the job. I guess

I am worried that I won't be able to do the 40 hours. Guess we'll just

have to wait and see. Lori O.
