Disinfecting Mouth before Surgery??

This question popped into my mind today - 5 days before my surgery.

Other surgeries I've had they used iodine or other disinfectant on

the area of surgery. Do they have use a mouthwash like periodex or

something like that before surgery? Guess I'll ask the OS on Wed -

just got me curious since I worked in a hospital for 20 years.
