Guest guest
Hi Jayar, I had upper/lower/genio done 7 weeks ago and at my 5 week mark I was given the clearance to start eating soft foods again. My surgeon told me I could chew to the point where I could handle it. I am now at 7 weeks and still do not chew much. I use the roof of my mouth and tongue to break down food and swallow. I can open more than before now, but my opening is still as much as my pinky finger, so be patient. Rina > I have some questions... Guest guest
Jayar, That really depends on what type of surgery you had and how you are post-op - meaning, are you banded, wired shut, splinted, really swollen, etc. I'm four days short of 2 months post-op. I'm wired shut and have a splint ... so I haven't had anything but liquid since my surgery and haven't been able to open my mouth at all. Carol > I have some questions...
