Guest guest Posted June 5, 2005 Report Share Posted June 5, 2005 hey. . part of it is all the blood you're ingesting. if you can help it, try and avoid swallowing it. if you're taking in that much blood, you might want to call your surgeon and get them to look at it. wounds should not be bleeding that much even a day after. as for the pain killers, i was fortunate enough to not requiring to take any pain meds, but i do here that codeine does have that effect on stomachs, so if you don't need it, get yourself off it asap. hope this helps

& nbsp;

derrick

& gt;From: & quot;jayarinca & quot; & lt;jayarinca@... & gt;
& gt;Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Re: Can someone who has survived this please help me calm down?
& gt;Date: Sun, 05 Jun 2005 19:35:58 -0000
& gt;
& gt;Hi there!
& gt;
& gt;((((katie)))) You are in the same spot that I was in at that time.
& gt;What I can tell you is that in the next couple of days, it gets MUCH
& gt;better. I used the purple Sudafed to clear my nose so that I could
& gt;breathe better, and it worked like a charm. Once you get passed the
& gt;breathing issues, you will be able to calm yourself down a little
& gt;more. Try not to panic, and talk with your doctor about your
& gt;symptoms. Guest guest Posted June 7, 2005 Report Share Posted June 7, 2005 Hey Derrick...what...no pain meds? Man, you're lucky/brave. That's so cool. I actually decided to keep taking the codeine..just in smaller doses, and now I can keep something in my stomach so I'm not getting sick anymore. The blood was also making me sick..I didn't realize your body can't digest blood. So it makes sense, but it stopped.. so yay! :] Thanks for your help. --katie
& gt; & gt; Hi guys, this is my first post and i'm 4 days post op.
