Guest guest
Well, I can hardly believe it--one year ago today I was wheeled into the operating room in Albany Medical College for surgery with Dr. Carl Risoti. It has certainly been a whirlwind year. Some of the accomplishments are unbelievable to me. People say I look like a teenage version of myself and these were people who knew me when I was 17 years old. I have had people not recognize me, people who were shocked, and people who didn't seem to notice. I love the reactions of people at my church. Some ask how much I've lost, some expect updates periodically, and there is one sweet elderly lady who won't say anything aloud, but wants to whisper in my ear. I have more energy, more confidence, and more self-esteem. My hubby, and both our families are so proud of me and supportive. I have gone from a 4-5X down to a 2x and even have a 1x swimsuit, albeit it is stretchy. Pants I have gotten a 14-16 or a 1x. It is amazing!!! I fit in a booth, and climbed 203 steps of a lighthouse last month without problems (other than fear of heights.). Wouldn't have even tried to do it a year ago. I even got my ears pierced for the first time in my life! It has been a year of breaking out of my comfort zone to try new things, learn to accept compliments, etc. I hope to lose at least another 50-60 pounds, and have an appointment with my surgeon in december. I'm sure he will want to refer me to a plastics guy for a panni. That will be a whole new experience. Glad to have been privy to the " elite " group here for the last year. Looking forward to learning more every day. Good Luck and Thanks to All. Loree in NY ORNY 11-5-02 BMI at surgery consult: 62.9 highest: 404 surgery: 373 5-21-03: 273 HIT THE 100 MARK!!!!!!
