Guest guest
Our LO has had a very similar experience. He doesn't seem to mind the helmet at all. We remove the helmet to get him dressed in the morning. It's off for such a short time it doesn't make a difference and our LO doesn't fuss when he gets his helmet off and on. But I also bought the onesies (the kind with the cross over neck - no snaps) in a bit larger size. They can slide down passed his shoulders and come off at his foot end. That's what daycare does if he has a blowout. That way also no junk from the blowout gets on the helmet. I also put the onesie on starting at the foot and slide it up. He even slept through the night last night with his helmet on which is no different than normal. Anyway, about getting him dressed. It their some trick to getting on his clothes without removing his helmet? How does one get on onesies over it or can I just take his helmet off to get him dressed? Looking for suggestions. Thanks! Guest guest
Some clothes go on easily over it and some don't. It's as simple as that. If I could tell the top wasn't stretchy enough I'd have to take it off. It was a pain, but much better than getting the shirt stuck half way on! Guest guest
I tended to look for things that were very big in the neck, or buttoned/snapped. If your baby tends to get wet at night (leaky diapers) then it usually helps to find things that don't require taking off the band to change her pajamas. You don't want to wake the baby up more than needed. -christine sydney, 3.5 yrs, starband grad > > Some clothes go on easily over it and some don't. It's as simple as that. Guest guest
We only dress Elijah when he has his helmet off for cleaning--and hope he doesn't dirty his clothes in the meantime!! Shirts with big necklines or with buttons or snaps on the neck opening are good if you have to take it off without taking the helmet off; if you haven't already found this out, don't do the cute hooded things--I've put Elijah down for a nap in one and found it tightly tucked under the edge of the helmet--scary. We'll have to wait on the hoods!! You can take his helmet off if you need to for dressing; it isn't going to mess up his shaping to be off for 2 minutes. But he might find it annoying to have an extra on- and off-. Elijah doesnt' mind wearing his helmet at all after 5 months, but he doesn't love the off- and on- part Betsy I know that this may sound like a strange question, but I'm new to this (my son has had his helmet only 4 days).
