Guest guest
Hi Sara, If it's any consolation to you, I did go on a job interview 3 weeks post-op after a lefort. I got through the interview (which was over lunch) just fine despite drooling, swelling and getting soup all over my face. And yes, as an ER physician, I do have to come across as somewhat articulate and intelligent. Although neither of my interviewers had ever seen anyone who had recently had orthognathic surgery, they were still very understanding and I got the job. I still have to wear a thick splint because of my TMJ but I've gotten used to it and can speak fairly normally with it. Now without it I sound like grandma without her dentures in! Hopefully your potential employers understand that your splint is only temporary and see you for your qualifications. With any luck, your splint may be a distant memory by then anyway. -minirascal > Lol!
