When I was at that stage, I ate allot of soups and refried beans. I never

pureed my foods just chewed really well. I could not handle what the food

looked like after I pureed it..

I have one more week on my puree stage and I was given some

suggestions by my doctor.

Canned chicken meat low fat with juice with 1 green onion and teriyaki

sauce - not the thick kind - kikkomans thin sauce. Puree until smooth

Tuna packed in water water with juice, small amount of low fat

mayonnaise and 1 green onion. Pureed until smooth. I live on the west

coast and can get specialty canned smoked albacore from a market right

next to where the fish unload - this has been my favorite.

I used to make a lowcarb chicken paprika and have thought about it

again but haven't tried it. Basically it is chicken, onion braised in

chix broth and paprika and add sour cream at the end. I was thinking

about making it but reduce the chix broth and use a very small amount

of fat free sour cream but haven't tried it yet.

We have pureed everything including chicken, tuna, tilapia, salmon,

hamburger (later on), and pork. Rich ate cottage cheese and

applesauce (unsweetened) for breakfast many times but for lunch and

dinner it was always a couple of ounces of protein and then some

pureed vegies too. He has done fantastically.

The doc wants him to continue on pureed food for another couple of

weeks (he is 1 month post-op now) and then ease into eating regular

food. He has already done that a few times and it has been fine.

Good luck,

Kathy
