Hi All:

I am so sorry I haven't been able to post sooner, but as most of you

know my computer is down and today is my first outing since surgery,

so yes my first stop is the library to say hi to all my surgery

buddies. Thanks Sara for those cute cartoons that made me laugh, the

pain was surely worth it.

My surgery went well on the 28th. I arrived at the hospital around

6:00am in the morning and was taken back to put on my gown and get

hooked up to the IV's, etc. around 7:00am. Surgery started promptly

at 7:30am and lasted for 5 hours. I did end up having a Lefort 3-

piece like you Sara. But no splint or bands when I woke up!!

YEA!!!!! The OS decided he wanted to allow the jaw to heal a little

bit before he puts the bands on next week. He stated the pressure

from the bands would cause a little more pain which he didn't want.

I really don't remember much of the hospital at all except that they

kept wanting me to eat some of that nasty broth and jello which I had

no appetite for anything. They kept me in the hospital until 9:00pm

on the 29th and finally released me. I had a male nurse who was

really great and I guess just gave up on me that I wasn't eating and

decided to finally send me home. I mainly slept the first few days

at home and had a little pain which the Percocet has taken care of.

I have lost a total of 12 pounds so far. I have been running a fever

of about 99.8 which I am keeping an eye on and if it keeps up I will

give my OS a call.

Anyway, I am out of energy and ready to get home. Thanks to everyone

for your well wishes and I will check back in a few days on my next

outing!! I hope all my June buddies are doing okay and Sara is

drinking some wine for me in Italy!! When I get my computer fixed I

will chat more!!

Take Care,

--Caboose
