Guest guest
You all probably don't remember me. I haven't been here in a few months. My computer broke down for a while so I've been off line. I finally got it fixed though and figured I'de come back and see how everyone is doing. I must say there are a lot of names here I don't recognize. Well anyway, I guess gastric bypass wise I am doing okay. I had hit my first plateau a couple weeks ago but I just started losing again. I'm out of surgery just over 9 months now and I have lost 151 pounds so far. I guess that's not too bad. Better than I had expected actually. I am having other physical problems though. When I was going for the pre-op testing for the surgery a year ago they found out that I have a kidney disease, kidney failure actually. Well it's getting worse. Fortunately, the pre-op testing caught the kidney failure before it was too late, they have been watching it closly, monitoring my bloods and kidney functioning. Well some of the levels have been getting better with the weight loss. But my potassium and CO2 levels have gone crazy, very critically low levels. So now of course I can't have anything with potassium in it. Well I have been pretty much living on fruit lately. Now I can't have any at all. No potatoes and other vegtables I've also been living on. This is making things very difficult for me. Fruit and veges are really all I WANT to eat. I just don't have a taste for anything heavier anymore. I'm terrible with getting my protein in. I used to be a big chicken eater, ate it almost every day. Now I dread eating it, it's just too heavy for me. All I crave is fruit and veges. As you can imagine I'm not eating much these days at all since they have taken away the fruit and veges. I have been eating some cereal lately though, I did add that because that's kind of light. But even that makes me sick sometimes. Sorry for rambling on and on here. I just don't have anyone to really talk about this stuff with who would understand. Does anyone out there have this same problem with eating the heavier things? Well I'm sorry to take up so much of all your time. Hope everyone is having a good day.
