Yeah no kidding. I got a bill from the lab after my last blood draw for

checkup with my surgeon. Apparently it wasn't coded correctly so my

insurance denied the claim. Bill was for $496. I called and had it

resubmitted. Got the " new " bill today. Insurance paid them $81.80 and I

owe $9.08. Now, I'm glad insurance covered it and I'm happy with my new

share but haven't figured out yet why insurance gets to pay $81 but I was

expected to pay $496. It's all a big racket...

**I'm trying to figure out why my labs cost 400-500$ in VA. at several

different labs but now they cost 1295 in SC. its the exact same tests -

nothing different, nothing extra. doesn't make sense to me at all. and yes,

the ins. paid them almost nothing but I still owe 250.

,

What insurance do you have? Can you go online and look at what their provisions

are? Ask them if that is in writing and make them show it to you. Other than

that hopefully someone else on here will have an answer.
