Guest guest
, I'm 11 days post op - upper/lower surgery. As I'm wired shut, I'm on a liquid diet as well. Due to the splint I have, everything needs to be blended & strained and even then sometimes I get all clogged. I'm jealous of all the folks that are getting to eat mush. That sounds wonderful to me! I understand what you mean about being tired. I find that I tire very easily these days. I just went back to work yesterday, for 1/2 a day, and I had to take a nap when I got home. It's getting better ... but slowly. I'm swollen & numb from my lower eyelids through my cheeks, lower nose, upper lip and chin. The tingling, I'm told, is a good thing. That means that the nerves are healing and feeling is on the way! I have been drinking from a cup since the day after surgery without any drool issues. But, my lower lip was never numb - so that may be why. I'd say that all things considered you're doing very well! This type of surgery seems to affect everyone very differently. I've heard the horror stories and I've heard the ones where the folks had no pain or swelling and were running around soon after surgery. I think in the grand scheme of things - that you're doing great! Keep up your fluid intake, try and keep a positive attitude and get lots of rest. Be brave and experiement with your blending. Get out and get fresh air when you can and try to smile! Best of luck along your road of recovery! Carol > Ciao to all - > > I'm , a 24 year old female in Oakland, CA.
