Guest guest
Hey experts out there. One of the members of our local support group (she works as a bus driver for the county) just called my co-founder and was very upset. She asked if I could ask you if anyone has every heard of this and what your thoughts and comments are. Here is the email I got from my partner: Hi Sheri, I just got off the phone with Patti Cole and she was very upset. They did a random urine drug test before she went on her cruise and when she got back there was a message on her answering machine from the lab Dr. stating that she failed the test. No drugs were detected but they are claiming she substituted her urine and said the urine they tested wasn't human urine. She said the Dr. was a complete jerk and wouldn't entertain any idea that he or the lab could be in error; or that any of her supplementation or results of WLS could be the reason for the failed test. Her creatinine and specific gravity, they claim, were way below the normal range. (I told Patti she needs to find out what lab they send it to in Ohio and get a list of what " their " normal ranges are). Her specific gravity was 1.022 g/ml which by most values is well within normal and measured ranges. Her creatinine was 1.80 mg/dl. According to most normal values this is actually a little above normal range. In both specific gravity and creatinine, increase water, lean body mass, increase protein intake, and certain herbal supplements can alter test results. Patti wondered if you might be able to post this problem on your message boards to see if any post-op has ever had abnormal results in a random spot urine drug test. Thanks & Blessings, Thanks in advance for your help on this one. Sheri In Sunny Florida
