Hey Tricia,

I am familiar some with the area you live in. Our son came

from Athens and had been in a home near Muscle Shoals. Too bad

there isn't any Doctors close to you so you wouldn't have to drive

so far. I would think Huntsville would have some. Husband say's

Caraway is a good hospital but didn't know the Dr. His ex-wife had

surgery in B'ham year ago July but for the life of me can't

remember. I think it was Brookwood. Anniston has at least 3

Doctors who specialize in GBS and some only do 3 surgeries a week.

I will hopefully have the surgery either at the end of August or

sometime in September. I missed a message the other day on the

machine for me to call concerning some dates at the end of the

month. Want to get it over with and get to the loosing side of

life. We have B/C B/S of AL too. I saw the Dr. on July 9th and had

the approval in the mail dated July 28th. I was so happy to see

that also. Luckly I have no major problems just the usual aches and

pains attributed to being overweight...oh yeah I have asthma...LOL!

I was so afraid without any major problems they wouldn't approve me

but thank goodness it didn't. I understand concerning the age

factor too. My husband's Mom is 71 and would love the surgery but

fears she wouldn't be approved for it. I have seen where they are

doing the surgery at that age but only for certain circumstances.

She's in CA and is a really bad diabetic.

Not aware of a boy scout camp but there is a big girl scout camp not

far from where we live. Its called Cottaquilla. Wonder if it

changed sexes at sometime. I have only been here since Jan. 2002

and dh came here during his Army day's at Ft. McClellan.
