Sara,

My first day back wasn't too bad. There were Welcome Back balloons

waiting for me, gentle hugs, words of encouragement. A couple people

were " surprised at how swollen " I was - which didn't make me feel

very good (especially since I had explained that before I left) but

most were thoughtful with their opinions. I was only in for four

hours, and mostly wandered through e-mails and organized things a

bit. Of course, there were people that didn't follow direction and

submitted work to me instead of the person that was covering for me -

so I have some " catch up " to do today. <shrug>

I actually woke up with this shooting/stabbing pain in my chin

yesterday morning before ever uttering a word. I think it might have

something to do with the way the swelling is moving. The pain is

right in a spot where I have a Skeletal Wire and I think it either

got more or less swollen up close to the incision - which made it

painful. I tolerated it all day the best I could. The over the

counter stuff barely took the edge off. It stopped hurting late at

night after a good meal (new england clam chowder blends really

well!) and some heat - I found a Bed Buddy and Bed, Bath & Beyond and

it was wonderful!

So, actually it's 6 more weeks until I'm unwired. :( Sometimes the

time feels like it's flying and other times it crawls along like a

really slow snail.

17 days!!!???!!! Amazing!

Have a great day,

Carol

Hope it
