Guest guest
I just had my hooks put in yesterday for my surgery on june 28th. My hooks were just little pieces of wire that attach between the brackes on the surgical wire. They told me the hooks can be irrating but mine arent bothering me at all. If you can try asking them to bend the hooks in toward the gum line. Thats how they did mine and I have no problem with them, however, food gets stuck in them. > Hey ya'll i went and saw my orthodontist today and had all my surgical > stainless steel wires put in and shes gonna put hooks in next week and > i was wondering if anyboby could tell me what exactly they are used for > and how they fit in my mouth im gonna have then for four days before i > actually have my surgery (in less than two weeks) they were gonna do it > today but they said the hooks are a little uncomfy and i just wanted to > know exactly how uncomfy they are thanx *~~*
Guest guest
Hi If you go under my photo file SARA you can find a photo of my mouth with the hooks and elastics and splint. The hooks basically serve to band together your mouth because that is where the elastics will wrap around. My doctor told me that my hooks were actually a lot smaller than most people so I got off lucky pain wise. The worse thing is the blisters you get much as when you first put on your braces. Use wax, it helps a lot. Also food gets stuck in the hooks a lot but you can always brush it out with a toothbrush. Congratulations, you're almost there surgery-wise!
