Guest guest
This is a standard side effect of having upper jaw surgery. My surgeon warned me about it and your doctor should have as well. Not wanting to put out any judgement on them. I'm sure they are great but if this was a key concern of yours pre-op you should have been warned. Because your jaw was moved and all the bone structure is connected to the frame of your nose (simplistic explanation) then some nose movement is often inevitable. My nose also looks wider now and was majorly turned up post-op. The good news is that now 3 weeks post op my nose looks less turned up. No more Miss Piggy. My surgeon told me that as the swelling goes down it will look better and better. In fact I know this to be true because I had a rhinoplasty 10 years ago and after 6 months my nose looked different once the swelling went down. My advice would be to talk about it with your surgeon and discuss what if anything can be done to rectify your situation if it doesn't improve 6 months down the line.
