Guest guest
I bought candy that I really don't like. If I'm going to eat candy and eat the sugar, fat, calories, etc and possibly get sick, I go for the good stuff from a chocolatier. My kids don't get much of that, so I'm not doing too badly here. However, I do really like tootsie rolls (go figure) and made the kids promise that they would give me three tootsie rolls each (had to make adjustments for the different sizes though), but gave me the tootsie rolls last night and Leah will give me her tootsie rolls in a few days. Then the halloween hullaballoo will be over and tootsie rolls will be out of sight, out of mind. Have to say though, wow, they got some good stuff that wasn't candy. Little spooky bags of pretzels. Packages of Cheese crackers. Kudo's Granola Bars (guess they may as well be candy). even got Pop Tarts from one house. Guess they ran out of stuff. Snack sized packs of Pringles. They both got some gift certificates for free french fries at Mc's. Package of Halloween Oreo's. One house even gave away those little boxes of cereal, fruit loops, cheerios, etc. Thought that was kind of cute. Of course I have about 20 lbs of candy in the house right now too. Hope everyone had a fun, safe and somewhat healthy Halloween. : ) I feel another protein " feast " coming on. Regina
Guest guest
Joanne got something that I LOVED and may look for next year... Little plastic bags with teeny you-assemble Styrofoam gliders. We put one together yesterday (the gal gave Joanne two) and that thing really GOES! It flew almost completely across the house, through the whole living room and almost all the way down the hall. Unfortunately, one of the cats (the one that likes to eat bugs) saw it as a flying thing to kill, and she killed it, alright! She chomped a big bite out of one of the wings, and now it doesn't fly well. Bad Amber! LOL I promised Joanne that next time, we will lock Amber in one of the bedrooms before " takeoff " . :-) Z I may be mean...
