I was reading more about yeast overgrowth

symptoms to try and determine if my son with UC is dealing with this as well.

Several of the symptoms listed are his:

Acne, bad breath, mouth ulcers, joint

ache, fatigue, dandruff, of course all of the gut issues, sleep disturbance,

sore throat and some others. Several of these however come and go. What does it

mean when they fluctuate? Actually, several of them are gone or fading but

others come and go.

I was curious about the blocked saliva

glands being an issue and was wondering if increased sweating is a sign of

improvement. He works on a farm and just recently commented to how much

sweating he is doing which is not normal for him. He becomes drenched in a way

that is not common for him…of course 90 degree plus temps are a factor

but it still was something unique to his body. Could this be a sign of healing?

overgrowth and UC

Hi Eileen,

When I it was suggested I had a yeast overgrowth, this page about yeast on pecanbread.com was informative for me. http://pecanbread.com/p/how/yeast.html

If you are interested in how to manage yeast with diet check out the Candida

files in the 'files' section of the website (slightly above 'applications' on

the menu at the webstie).

I have seen the issue of

yeast overgrowth referenced alot on this list but know very little about

it...basically all that I know is that it is a problem. Is this tied in with UC

in some way? Do all UC sufferers have it? How do you assess if it is an issue

for you and does having it slow down the healing power of SCD?

Could this be a sign of healingcould be a sign of die off and getting rid of toxins through sweat or could be a sign of a different UC related problem. have your son take epsom baths, which also helps with getting rid of toxins. you'll have to wait and see if theproblem goes away or keeps on.Mara

does anyone have a brand of s. boulardii that they recommend?i see " florastor " (with a quick google search), but am not sure if the lactose in it would be problematic.  are there other better ones?
