Guest guest
Has anyone here been on Sulfasalazine and had a reaction of bad diarrhea after taking it? My six year old daughter started on it today and had major diarrhea a few hours after taking it. I don't know if it's linked to the medication or a coincidence, but I haven't introduced any new SCD foods in a few weeks. Unless she's developing a reaction to a food she's been eating for a while, I'm thinking it's either the medication or maybe it's the 3 month mark? We're at about 3 1/2 months now and haven't had an episode of diarrhea like this since pre-SCD. I plan to call the gastroenterologist tomorrow, but thought I'd see if anyone here has had a similar reaction to the medication. I am hoping to switch her to Sulfasalazine and get her off Methotrexate and Humira within the next few months (and continue on the SCD) and really hope she's not allergic to the medication (my sister and aunt are allergic to sulfa drugs so I am keeping a close eye on my daughter). Thank you! CdB
