Guest guest
Hi All, I'm ready to go! At 8 am I started my pre-op history and physical with surgeon. Then my questions and his answers to my many questions. Then over to another building for pre-admission, then for pre-op forms with nurse, ekg, labs, x-ray, etc. Finished all that about 11:30 am, then back to motel room for a quick lunch and off to the OD for my surgical " hooks " . The so called hooks are not bad & not very big, but because they've taken off the orthodontic chains I really feel the normal orthodontic hooks and the surgical ones, especially the lower ones. Mouth is a little sore, but nothing major. Only took about a half hour to install. Thank heavens for wax! I reconfirmed with the surgeon, I'll only have elastics - no splint. But of course they have to warn you if he can't get the screws & plates in, you can be wired. But he says that's highly unlikely. I have to be at the hosptial at 4:30 am!! Surgery will start at 7 am. So probably not much sleep tonight. It's a good thing we decided to come down to stay at motel until after the surgery. After the OD appt we headed to Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Found the " Bed Buddy " someone recommended. Stocked my husband up on microwavable food for motel room. And of course indulged myself in some " Krispy Kreme " donuts. Hmm... Won't have those for a long time. We took a run over to the hospital to see where to go and where to park. There are numerous hospitals, etc. in this area and streets curve around so thought I'd go over with my husband & show him how to get there & back . I call him a " sense of direction deprived " person . Seems it was inherited as his mother had the same problem. Once he's driven the route a few times, he should have it down. I wouldn't want them to be paging him at hospital and he's lost somewhere in San . Believe me the next car will have GPS on it. But he's love when it comes to helping me when I'm ill, so can live with the directional problem. I will try to post some pictures after I get home. I forgot to bring my digital camera cord. This train is pulling out of the station soon!! Shirley
