Guest guest
Hi Diane, Thanks so much for the info. I looked up archwired.com and added it to my list of favorites. I have fillings in all of my molars, though none of them protrude to the outside of my teeth, but I also grind my teeth, and I think those might have been factors. Plus I think the back teeth are being used almost like anchors for the other teeth to move. Thanks again. Hope you're getting a chance to relax this weekend. ~Joanne > Hi, Joanne - I'm getting my bands put in on August 9th on the back > molars. I think they are a way to secure the brackets to the teeth in > the back. According to the info on www.archwired.com ,which is the > website for adults with braces, " Some of your teeth may need brackets > that are attached to metal bands that go all the way around the > tooth. Ususally, the bands are used only on molars. " Then it goes on > to explain: " Why do some teeth need metal bands instead of regular > brackets? They even have a meesage board > for Orthognathic Surgery. ~~~~~~ Diane (soon-to-be-in-braces)---
