Guest guest
Hi Ellen, I'm Val and I'm 18 years old. I don't know what type of surgery you had but I had my lower jaw extended. The food situation might seem really hard but there is a lot you can do for it. I drink lots of chocolate milkshakes (who doesn't like chocolate milkshakes =) and different juices and soups. You don't have to just drink soup all day, there are lots of liquids. The one I really really like is Carnation Instant Breakfast which is a powder that you can add to milk and they have different flavors, it is really good because it has lots and lots of vitamins and all the good stuff that is hard to get on a liquid diet. As far as the throwing up, I threw up the first two days I was home - its not fun but it gets better and better. It can be kind of scary especially if you cant open your mouth at all. If you really really need pizza and chinese food you could always blend it all up and drink it (although I don't know how appetizing that sounds...). Good luck in your recovery! Hang in there!
