Guest guest
I ask because I care, of course, but I also need a serious @$$kicking. I don't think I've had a protein shake in three months (perhaps an odd one or two), I feel like crap, I'm back on the sugar big time, and I'm up *24.5* lbs from my lowest. Spiral into hell. =) And, please, no e-mails from the holier-than-thous who get to goal within 30 minutes and can't figure out why any of us continue to have issues. =) (I'm a little grumpy, too, can you tell??? sorry.... ;-) I guess I need to get myself up to date on my OSSG-Protein reading and do a protein feast (but I sure will miss food...waaaaah). I *have* been taking my iron, but I continue to bruise easily and heal slowly, so it will be interesting to see what my lab work holds for me this year...speaking of which.... Ok....went to the doc's today, and he's ordered up the labs. Of course, not all the labs I need (he's usually pretty open, but I was just too darned tired today to help him out). Just CBC, Comprehensive Metabolic (Chem 14), Glycoheomglobin, TSH, LH, FSH (I have PCOS & the pen fell on the Thyroid screen after I left his office). Last year, the pen fell a few other places (A, D, Zinc), but darned if I remember the other places the pen fell by accident). Do any of you wonderful lab techie types out there know where else my doctor should drop his pen to get the complete screening we need? Yes, I have the list from the files, but it's all Greek to me since I don't know what's in the SBC and CM14.... I should have kept a copy of last year's lab slip. I figure what doesn't get covered this trip I'll ask him to write me up for in three months when I go back. Also, I asked if he had an Endocrinologist that he works with for PCOS patients, and he said that Endocrinologists didn't work with that sort of thing. DUH! Ok..he's a bit in the dark ages. Time for me to go Google it and get some literature for him. If anyone already has any good links, please forward to me. He *did* say that once I've gone for my yearly girlie doc visit, he'll send me to the Endo the Gyn doesn't have anything helpful for me. My PCOS symptoms are getting out of hand, so I've got to do something... My doc's a good guy, just a bit old-fashioned, and I was too darned tired to fuss much today (getting over the bug that's been going around....plus lack of protein). Kick self, kick self. Thank you for reading this far, and thank you in advance for any help. =( Staci aka pandy when I'm in trouble and hiding =)
