That's the one I get, too...the one with B-6 and Folic. It still

dissolves faster than the Twin Labs B-12.

MCG's of B-12.

For whatever it is worth, re B-12, I started 3.5 years ago doing

sublinguals,,,,,,three or four times a week. Think they were 500mcg, not

sure now, it is after lunch and I have to be retrained. Over a period of

years (and some forgetfulness in there ) after switching to injections after

the first year,,,,,,,,I watched my B-12 levels take the long slow slide.

What got my attention one day was the inclusion of a paragraph on the bottom

of some six month labs about ranges being,,,,,,200 to

whatever,,,,,,,BUT,,,,,,,,IT had been reported in some research that levels

below 400 had been associated with some emotional roller coaster dips and

highs. Well,,,,,that was enuff for me,,,,,,I decided,,,that being below

400,,,,,on top of all the other roller coaster rides I take, was not

necessarily a desirable thing for me. So I increased injections from

monthly,,,to once every two weeks,,,,more labs,,,,,bit higher than where I

wanted to be,,,,,,so changed that again,,,,,to once every three weeks and

now consistently for a good while,,,,labs are about the 700 range,,,and that

is fine with me.

I have read many times about the excess in B-12 not being a threat,

etc,,,,,I am not qualified to speak to what is good or bad for me,,,,,let

alone anyone else,,,,regarding medical issues, so I cannot address or

comment on whether tis good or bad to be in excess of the ranges most labs

report re B-12, can just say that for me,,,,,after some trial and error and

tweaking,,,,I am satisfied with what I am doing. Just sharing.

B-12

Hi all,

I take 2500 mcg. sublingual b-12. For the past three blood tests (9 months

now) my levels have been

>2000. First I was taking it daily, then three months ago I switched to

every other day, now I'm considering once per week. Whaddya think?

live each day like it's your last... love like you've never been hurt...

The addition of folic acid and B-6 is to help cardiac conditions.  Many

people, particularly WLS patients run a folic acid deficiency.  If you are

taking 1000 mcg of B-12, it is doubtful that it makes any difference if you

let it fully dissolve under your tongue or chew it up and let it stay they

for a while.  I chew mine up.  My B-12 level is in the 800s, which is high

normal.

  • 10 months later...

I only indicated that my B-12 levels were " fine " so as to not get into a big

lengthy numbers or post. My levels are excellent I should have said and I have

a fantastic doctor that deals with gastric bypass patients. One of his nurses

is also a gastric patient and he is more than just " familiar " with the whole

process. If numbers are needed before I post then I will be sure and have all

that info next time.
