Rose, what depression meds are you on? I think it's time I take something cuz I don't want to do anything anymore. I am frightened of taking another med but , at this point, I am frightened not to. I've got to do something. Any help would be appreciated! thanks. S.Life may not always be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance!

Mitch, I'm not having all the physical problems you are having, but I have been (can't think of the word, darn that CRS!) where you just don't want to do stuff that you can normally do. I skipped a counseling appt & Bible study group last week, both of which I usually enjoy. I cancelled a dental appt today with an hour's notice. Sometimes they charge for late cancellations, sometimes not, but I didn't care. I just didn't want to get dressed & go anywhere. I don't know if it's the sarc, or just plain old laziness/irresponsibility. I did clean the catbox yesterday; whoopee! I'm trying to toilet train my cats, so I have to keep the one litter box clean. I'm just imagining a life without littler boxes, if this works.

Not sure about anyone else but I am having a very bad week. Started our with pure lethargy. and ended on Saturday with leaving work not being able to breathe. Up to 40mg of Prednisone (and still rising),, normal plaquinil and methotrexate and more pain pills then on a normal week (but not near as much as on my worst of weeks)., Then they changed the formulation of Oxycontin and I don't know if it's my mind (I normally don't do well on new formulations) but I've been getting worse Headaches then I normally do, worse stomach cramping and constipation. Oh and I forgot the hot flashes and cold sweats have been unbearable (before taking the new pills)Anyone else having a bad week?Mitch

, I've been on Effexor for several months & it was working pretty well. Prior to that I took plain old generic Prozac for a couple of years, but apparently built up such a tolerance that it was no longer effective. My psychiatrist told me that I might have to toggle back & forth between the two, so it may be time to try the Prozac again. Years ago I tried Zoloft, but it made me very sleepy & verrrrry gassy. If it weren't for the gas, I would have slept round the clock. If you want to try antidepressants, ask your doctor for pros/cons of several. Often they just give you the latest drug, because the drug rep has been there promoting it. Often the older drugs work just fine & have more of a proven track record. They are also cheaper, which is a factor for me as I fell into the drug gap in May this year, so have been paying full cost since. Some of the antidepressants help more than others with pain issues, depending on the type of pain. So don't let them go the eenie-meenie-minie-mo route.
