I had SLD at 5 yrs out. Also had to wait 4 months to get on the table. Most

of my era gained as fast as 1# per day, some more like 10# per month.

I guess I was lucky (?) that I was so nauseated, huh? But also, I was

absolutely terrified and knocking back protein drinks like they were my

salvation. It helped with the nausea & kept my volume from real food down. I

only gained 12# in the 4 months.

Because I was so protein loaded (LOL) my surgery was a " non-event " ,

basically. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a repair, and sure it was

uncomfy right after, and then I'm old, so needed my nappies for awhile. But

otherwise-- nothing. He did rebuild my pouch, so I had to start from

scratch with eensy portions again. I THOUGHT I was eating small til I

started over! But I'm not complaining. Just had some adjusting to do.

I have had a revision due to a SLD. I am VERY glad I have gotten my tool

fixed. It was easier to recover from the revision then it was from the

original RNY. I think because I was still 60 pounds lighter then when I had

the original RNY (even though I had re-gained 67 pounds). I also knew what

to expect. Knew the food procedures and had new ideas for dealing with the

post op food issues. In short I was up and running a whole lot faster the

second time around.
