New member, had surgery May 6th

Hello,

I had a Le Fort 1 and 2, osteotomy, had my nose lengthened and

surgery on my cheek bones. I spent 8 days in hospital (longer than

anticipated). I have had an infection for 8 weeks now, we are now

looking into having the plates taken out and replaced as the the

infection has prevented the bones from healing.

My surgery took 14 hours as they also took a bone graft from my hip.

My surgeons also had to cut open my scalp from one ear to the other

and under each eye so they could lengthen my nose etc!

I am 10 weeks post op and still on liquid/soft food diet due to the

jaw bone not healing. I am still swollen due to the infection. And

still off work! I was originally told that I would need 6 weeks off

work ( I am a nursery nurse)but I am no where near fit enough to

work and I am disappointed.

I was worried about what my boss would say but she has been great, I

only started working for her in Febuary.
