Guest guest
<<My friend warned me against telling at first, but it's such a major part of my life, I couldn't imagine not sharing it. Ultimately, I'd like to find someone to share my life with that understands my >situation, embraces it and lives through it with me.>> My experience -- having now been single again for almost 16 yrs. after a 27 yr. marriage -- and having made the acquaintance of a lot of guys over the years... I've found that a person who recognizes that life's challenges bring Gifts with them is a very rare person. Can't speak for women but there are an awful lot of self-centered, depressed single men out there. My dad had polio when I was 2 so I grew up not only with a " handicapped " person in my family but a " handicapped " Role Model! One of the many gifts my dad's " handicap " gave us was learning that someone the World sees as different, " less than " , or even cursed may actually be a supremely GIFTED person. Superior to the herd in many ways, not the least of which may be stick-to-itiveness, creativity, sympathetic kindness and generosity. A much older and wiser friend says, " God uses our troubles to tenderize our hearts. " This is true if we cooperate with the lesson. Most don't appear to want to become more loving. Consequently, they DON'T!! But, as far as a mate goes, it only takes ONE!! Blessings, Artful Carol
