Guest guest
I'm having real memory problems of late . . . . How much vit e should we take a day? I've got the dry e in capsules (from Vitalady), but never started taking it. 2.5 mos ago I had my hormones checked and they were perfectly fine. Then a few weeks ago I had my dr run them again as I've been having major hot flashes (easily 100 a day). Turns out I'm at the tail end of menopause. My dr said he has never seen it happen so fast to anyone. My gyno said she has seen it in those that have had WLS, but not so quick. My mother died of Ovarian cancer when she was 56 years old (just turned 56 a few weeks before she died). This puts me at a higher risk of ovarian cancer, the early menopause also puts me at a higher risk for cancer. If I did the hormone replacement therapy that would also put me at a higher risk for ovarian cancer .. . . . so I'm going without. I can't even take products like black cohosh, soy isoflavones or Estroven. In fact I gained 5 pounds on the Estroven and felt so bloated and sick, looked like I was 3 mos preg. Felt like I was going to have the period from hell. The gyno had me get off of it, as she has seen this reaction in other folks. I figured since it was natural, it must be okay duh, heaven help me if I find an arsenic tree! Any way, one of the things that I can take is up my b's and vit e - so that takes my rambling mind back to where I started, can anyone remember how much e we should have. Many thanks, Joanie Lap RNY 08/13/02 284/
